UEFA European Championship
The UEFA European Football Championship, sometimes known as the European Championship or the Euros, is the main association football competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The competition is contested by senior men's national teams from UEFA members, with the goal of selecting Europe's continental champion.
Since 1960, the tournament has been conducted every four years, with the exception of 2020, when it was postponed until 2021 owing to the COVID-19 epidemic in Europe, although the name Euro 2020 was retained. It was initially called the European Nations' Cup and was scheduled to take place in the even-numbered year between FIFA World Cup competitions. It was renamed to its current name in 1968. Individual tournaments have been marketed as "UEFA Euro" since 1996.
