Çukurova University
Ankara University's Faculty of Agriculture (founded in 1969) and Ataturk University's Faculty of Medicine (founded in 1972) united in 1973 to form Çukurova University, which is located in Adana, Turkey.
Balcali, the main campus of Çukurova University, is located on the eastern side of Seyhan Lake and covers an area of 20km2. Its name is a reference to the settlement that originally stood on the college grounds. It has administrative and educational buildings, research labs in several divisions of the hospital complex, a central library, canteen, sports facilities, teacher housing and dormitories, and a capacity of 3,500 people.
Seven faculties are offering 80 undergraduate programs: the faculty of education, the faculty of arts and sciences, the faculty of economics and administrative sciences, the faculty of theology, the faculty of fine arts, the faculty of engineering and architecture, and the faculty of agriculture, as well as three graduate schools, three colleges, and seven vocational colleges.
Çukurova University also features a state conservatory and a Foreign Languages Research and Application Centre (YADIM), where undergraduate and postgraduate students can learn English.
CUASK, a club with four thoroughbred stallions used for training and free trail rides throughout the campus, offers horseback riding lessons to Çukurova University students.
