UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia is a leading financial institution operating in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In the Czech Republic, it is a joint-stock company incorporated according to Czech law and carrying out its activities in the Czech market.


It was formed in 2007, following the merger of two banking institutions: HVB Bank Slovakia and UniCredit Czech Republic. The merger brought together the two banks' expertise, resources, and networks, creating a stronger and more competitive financial institution with a presence in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Today, the bank is part of the larger UniCredit Group, a leading European banking and financial services organization with a presence in over 14 countries worldwide.


The bank's total assets as of October 2022 were CZK 1,025.9 billion, which is the fourth-largest in the Czech Republic by total assets. UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia reported results of CZK 9.13 billion in 2022, a rise of 30.8% from the prior year's consolidated net profit. Today, the bank is focused on advancing steadily in the area of digitization; in 2022, it sold 50,000 accounts and 8,000 loans via digital platforms, and it released a completely unique intelligent chatbot to the Czech and Slovak markets.
