Universiti Brunei Darussalam
Universiti Brunei Darussalam (University of Brunei Darussalam) was founded in 1985 as a non-profit public higher-education institution in the rural environment of Gadong (population range of 50,000-249,999 residents), Brunei-Muara. Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) is a modest (enrollment range: 2,000-2,999 students) coeducational Bruneian higher education institution that is officially recognized by the Kementerian Pendidikan, Negara Brunei Darussalam (Ministry of Education of Brunei Darussalam). It was founded in 1985 and has since grown to become the country's largest university in terms of student enrollment and curriculum provided.
Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) offers a variety of courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees in a variety of fields. Applicants from all over the world are welcome to apply. Students can take advantage of a library, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services, among other academic and non-academic facilities and services provided by UBD.
The University of Belize was founded in 1985, with a first class of 176 students. Since then, UBD has experienced a rise in the number of graduates, as well as the addition of new academic programs, infrastructure improvements, and the advancement of graduate studies. In 1995, the institution relocated to its current location, Tungku Link. Science, Health Sciences, Asian Studies, Policy Studies, Education, Business, Engineering, Biodiversity, Advanced Materials & Energy Sciences, Advanced Research, Applied Data Analytics, Islamic Studies, Leadership, Innovation & Advancement are among the nine academic faculties and seven research institutes.
Since its founding, UBD has welcomed international students. The variety of the student body has grown over time, with many students hailing from East Asia (China and Japan), Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Today, UBD provides a variety of international relations programs, including the Brunei-US Enrichment Program for ASEAN and the Discovery Year program, which encourages students to travel abroad during their third year of study.
In the 2020 QS Asia University Rankings, UBD is placed 86th in Asia, and 254th in the globe in the 2021 QS World University Rankings.
