The University of Hyderabad is one of the country's major postgraduate teaching and research institutes. It was founded in 1974 as a central university and is entirely supported by the University Grants Commission (UGC). In the NIRF overall rating 2021, the university is placed 17th. Furthermore, the varsity was ranked 25th in the research category and 9th in the university category in the NIRF ranking 2021. The university aims to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it deems fit, as well as by the example of its industry life, and, in particular, to contribute to making special provisions for integrated humanities and science courses in the university's educational programs, as well as to take appropriate measures promoting interdisciplinary studies and research in the university.

The Hyderabad University is located in India Post Lingampally, Hyderabad Central University Rd, CUC, Gachibowli, Telangana. Any mode of transportation can be used to get to the campus. The university is 35 kilometers from the Shamshabad Airport and may be accessed by cab or by GMR bus. Taxis cost around Rs 600, while buses cost around Rs.250. Then get out at Gachibowli and take an auto for another 4 kilometers to the university.

The University of Hyderabad provides a library, a medical center, a dormitory, sports facilities, labs, and much more to meet the educational needs of students and faculty.

• Hostel: The University has 23 hostels that have separate rooms for boys and girls. Hostellers are given with all necessary amenities, such as a mess, furnishings, a recreational space, and internet access.
• Sports: They provide sports, games, and yoga facilities for the university community to participate in a variety of games, sports, and fitness activities of their choosing in order to be fit and healthy. All indoor and outdoor sporting equipment is available.
• Library: The IGM library houses the university's library, which is open to students and faculty. The library has been entirely digitalized, and all books and publications from across the world are now available.
• Medical: Various forms of emergency situations are addressed by the Doctor on call in the Health Centre and are treated either in the Health Centre or referred to other Super Speciality Hospitals depending on the case in the Health Centre Ambulance under medical supervision.
• Central Tools Laboratory (CIL): The Central Instruments Laboratory (CIL) is a centralized facility equipped with cutting-edge advanced analytical instruments to meet the demands of the university's teachers and research researchers. Scanning Electron Microscopy, Confocal Microscope, Spectroscopy (X-Rays, UV-VIS-IR), Spin Resonance investigations, and Vibrating Magnetometer are the major instruments of CIL.

The University of Hyderabad provides a variety of scholarships and fellowships to students studying a variety of disciplines at the university. Scholarships and fellowships are available to students pursuing higher education at universities via DBT JRF, NCRI, SERB, DST, ICMR, ICSSR, NBHM, and other organizations. Aside from this, students can apply for numerous state and federal government scholarships before achieving the eligibility requirements.
