University of Malawi
University of Malawi is one of the best universities in Malawi which was founded in 1964. The University has a federal structure and operates through constituent colleges in the country's central and southern regions. There are currently five constituent colleges: Chancellor College in Zomba, which focuses on science and humanities, The Polytechnic in Blantyre, which focuses on engineering, commerce, and applied sciences, College of Medicine in Blantyre, which focuses on medicine, health, and pharmacy, Bunda College in Lilongwe, which focuses on agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, and Kamuzu College of Nursing in Blantyre and Lilongwe, which focuses on nursing and midwife.
Medicine, Education, Commerce, Environmental Sciences, Economics and Developmental Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Theology and Religious Studies, and Administrative Studies are among the undergraduate programs available at the university. The mission of the university is to advance knowledge and promote wisdom and understanding through teaching, research, consulting, and community engagement, as well as by making provisions for the dissemination, promotion, and preservation of learning that is responsive to the needs of Malawi and global trends.
