Varied geography
The diverse geography of Morocco is one of the reasons it is a great travel destination! Morocco not only has vast desert stretches and lovely beaches—but it also has mountains! The Atlas Mountains run across the center of the nation and the Rif Mountains are the two main mountain ranges in Morocco. With their craggy cliffs, brilliant natural colors, and little hilltop communities, driving through these mountains is always insane. Though the winding roads and insane Moroccan drivers make for a type of mountain rollercoaster, it's perhaps not the ideal location to go if you have motion sickness.
The highest mountain in Northern Africa, Mount Toubkal, is a good option for those who want to hike and are physically active. Local towns abound in the highlands, including the peaceful and delightful Imlil in the Atlas Mountains and Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. Hikes and treks can be started from these towns. Visiting Berber Villages, or native villages in Northern Africa is another fantastic experience you can have. It is enlightening to gain knowledge of their manner of life and Berber language in order to gain a deeper understanding of Morocco's prehistoric cultures.
