Being at the meeting point of numerous civilizations has left its influence on Vietnam. Asian and European architectural influences can be seen in Vietnam. Each historical era has seen a distinct growth in Vietnam's architecture. The Hung Kings dynasty is where the original Vietnamese design should have come from. Wood was mostly used during the period to construct homes to keep humans safe from wild animals.
The architecture has become increasingly distinctive and one-of-a-kind with each dynasty, including the Ly, Tran, and Nguyen. Overall, it supports and is influenced by Buddhism. The palace's architecture is created with floors and corridors that flow into one another to create a spacious area appropriate for tropical climes. Some prominent places that you must visit such as Temple of Literature, Imperial Citadel of Hue, Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, etc.
Additionally, you could be surprised to find a typical French-style structure as you stroll through Vietnam. Architecturally, the French left their stamp all over Vietnam. All of the cities have some grand buildings from the colonial era, and many of them are still in use today, performing the same functions they did back then. This style of architecture evolved concurrently with colonialism's exploitation.
