Villa Leopolda

The Villa La Leopolda is one of many properties owned by King Leopold II of Belgium in the nineteenth century. It now belongs to Lily Safra, the widow of Brazilian Swiss banker Edmond Safra and a living survivor.


This most expensive luxury home is located on the French Riviera's Alpes-Maritimes. It has 11 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, an outdoor kitchen, a helipad, and a world-class swimming pool.


Interestingly, Alfred Hitchcock's 1955 film "To Catch a Thief" was shot in the Villa Leopolda. Ogden Codman Jr., an American architect, designed the house.
