Vincent Black Lightning
Another one of the most expensive motorbikes in the world is Vincent Black Lighting. Between 1948 and 1952, Vincent-Black HRD's Lightning was the world's fastest production motorbike. It's also one of the most sought-after motorcycles, with just 31 ever produced and only 19 extant.
Black Lightnings were equipped with magnesium alloy and aluminum components to reduce weight and improve weight-to-power ratio. A 1000cc V-twin engine producing 70 horsepower powers them. It also has racing carburetors, high-strength con rods, and steam idler gears.
One of the surviving Vincent Black Lightning motorbikes was auctioned off for an incredible $929,000 in Las Vegas in 2018. At the time, it was the highest sum paid (at an auction) for a motorbike.
