Visit Strawbery Banke Museum

The Strawbery Banke Museum, located on 10 acres in downtown Portsmouth, brings 300 years of American history to life through costumed actors and artisans who tell what life was like in New England in the early days. To discover more about the people who formerly lived in this waterfront area, visitors can tour historic houses and interactive exhibits. Previous visitors cite talking with the artisans who are dressed historically, such as barrel makers and boat builders, as a highlight of their trip. From May 1 to October 31, every day is normally open at this outdoor history museum. Tickets cost $19.50 for adults and $9 for kids aged five to seventeen. Children under 5 are admitted free of charge. Additionally, there is a $48 family admission fee.

This covers entry for two adults and kids aged five to seventeen. You can buy tickets in person or online. Puddle Dock Pond offers outdoor ice skating during the winter. The Sailmaker's House is a small, charming boutique hotel with only 10 rooms located just across the corner from Strawbery Banke.
