It's worth visiting this art deco historic landmark just for the history (it's been the preferred lodging for numerous US presidents; a temporary residence for Marilyn Monroe in 1955; and, of course, the birthplace of the Waldorf salad). However, you may discover that your room does not live up to its illustrious past: Their traditionally decorated room had lost some of its luster during a recent stay.
