Warm and kind-hearted people

Hondurans do not have a good reputation. Many tourists who have never been to the country assume that every native is familiar with firearms and cocaine because of gang violence and drug smuggling. Hondurans tend to be quite sensitive, compassionate, and warm-hearted, despite the fact that there are a few bad apples here and there. I've only ever experienced Hondurans who are incredibly kind and eager to show visitors about their stunning country. Particularly outside of major towns, Hondurans are consistently and widely friendly.

Statistics show that 66 percent of the population in Honduras lives in poverty, making it one of the poorest nations in Central America. Hondurans are immensely proud of their heritage and have a strong work ethic despite their dire poverty. Hondurans place high importance on family and are friendly toward young people. When speaking, Hondurans frequently make hand gestures, and making eye contact often signals respect.
