Wasaga Beach
Wasaga Beach, one of Ontario's great beach communities, attracts nearly two million sun and surf enthusiasts from all across the province. This is a location where people come to see and be seen. A regular stream of tanned people strolls down the water's edge, taking pictures and having fun. Countless families and their children have returned from the concert and are splashing in the shallow, warm waves.
Wasaga Beach, on Georgian Bay, is believed to be the world's longest freshwater beach, thus you may pick between a bustling section and a virtually empty section. It's all up to you. For simple travel, the beach is separated into parts. Sections 1 and 2 are located in town and have the most active scene, with volleyball courts and a boardwalk. The town is only around the corner from this region, and it's plenty of entertaining things to do.
Sections 3 through 6 are more calm, and they're ideal for finding your own piece of sand to curl up with your newest novel. Set up in section 3 if you're going with your dog. This area allows dogs to swim and relax on the beach with you as sand accumulates in their fur.
