Waypoint
Chef Michael Scelfo of Alden & Harlow uses his innovative approach to seafood at Waypoint, creating a totally distinctive menu of dishes with a coastal, Italian influence. This restaurant is a favorite for date nights nearby Harvard Square because of its ominous, gloomy atmosphere and excellent raw bar selections. Add more briny goodies to your daily oyster choices, such as Maine uni, smoked peel-and-eat shrimp, and caviar with plankton and corn blinis. Drink one of the fantastic, seasonal specialty drinks the bar offers to wash everything down.
On the other side of Harvard Square, Alden & Harlow chef Michael Scelfo debuted Waypoint, his second Cambridge eatery. The menu combines Scelfo's innovative approach with seaside cuisine to create a wide-ranging and welcoming meal. Seafood is used into a variety of pizzas, pastas, and prepared plates. Starters range from a raw bar and exquisite crudo to a traditional caviar service with contemporary accents (plankton and white corn blini, anyone?). The highlight of the cocktail menu is absinthe, and the beer and wine menus are full of interesting, hard-to-find selections.
