Windsor Castle
Windsor Castle in the town of Windsor is the largest occupied castle in the world and an interesting destination in the journey to discover the United Kingdom. This is a work associated with many important historical events of the British Royal Family over the past 1,000 years. This place is one of the residences of hundreds of generations of Queens, in which Queen Elizabeth II has spent many weekends here.
With a floor area of 44,965 square meters, Windsor is the largest inhabited castle in the world. Some of the greatest treasures in the Royal Collection can be seen in the Castle’s magnificent State Apartments. The Royal Archives, the Royal Photograph Collection, the Print Room, and the Royal Library are all based here. Historically, Windsor was once a magnificent royal castle in peacetime, a fortified fortress with stone walls during wars.
