Zom 100: Bucket List Of The Dead
The anime film Zom 100: Bucket List Of The Dead is based on the manga of the same name. It follows the exploits of Akira Tendo, a 24-year-old office worker who awakens one day to discover Tokyo overrun by zombies. Instead of worrying, he chooses to take this chance to cross items off his bucket list that he has always wanted to accomplish but has never had the time or confidence to do.
The film is a comical and heartwarming voyage of self-discovery and companionship as Akira rides his trusty bike through the post-apocalyptic city, meeting many survivors along the way. He attempts to confess to his crush, ride a roller coaster, eat at a fine restaurant, and even skydive. The picture strikes a good mix between comedy and horror, never taking itself too seriously while also depicting the perils and difficulties of living in a zombie-infested society.
The animation is bright and colorful, with expressive character designs and fast-paced action scenes. The voice acting is also excellent, with the actors delivering lines with emotion and comedy. The soundtrack is lively and upbeat, fitting the film's tone.
