  1. Rosa Sky is Miami's newest rooftop bar, located far above the city. Rosa Sky is the perfect blend of scene and serenity, with panoramic views of the dazzling Miami cityscape, colorful hand-crafted cocktails, culturally influenced tapas, and a bold music lineup.

At Rosa Sky, atop the AC Marriott, the skyline panorama is unrivaled, and the cocktails are equally so. The Tulum Trip, made with Illegal Mezcal, Casa Noble Reposado, Grand Marnier, jalapeño, and citrus, is a tequila concoction for two. Rosa Sky, the lounge's signature cocktail, is served by the glass or in a communal-style vat for four. If you want to take a photo, order Grey Goose Strawberry Lemongrass, which is a mix of lemon, and sparkling rosé and poured over a rose-shaped ice cube. Then order "Cuban Cigars," Cuban sandwiches wrapped in wontons and deep-fried, then served in a Cohiba ashtray to chill off.

  2. Little Havana's entertainment anchor is back up and running, loaded with the same lineup of tropical cocktails and live music under the pineapple, after nearly a year and a half of COVID closures and code compliance harassment at the hands of Joe Carollo.

Locals come for the fantastic live music, the drinks, and the promise of never having to pay a cover charge. Tourists come to sip mojitos, smoke cigarettes, and tango. Both sides manage to coexist peacefully, maybe due to the calming effect of Ball & Chain's back patio, which is particularly beautiful at sunset. When the sun goes down, this location comes alive with loud music and confetti showers. Stop into the historic center bar during the day for a bright, breezy Mojito and look around at the classic posters touting jazz greats who formerly performed there. Head out back at night for live music and fine cigars, a taste of Cuban culture within a short walk of downtown.

  3. Terras is a tropical rooftop bar and restaurant with unrivaled views of the Miami skyline and cuisine influenced by Latin American urban street foods. The space is beautiful and not too confining, making it ideal for a date or gathering up with a group of friends. Even though it is located on the top of a hotel, it is not overly touristic.

This sunny rooftop garden bar, located atop Little Havana's boutique treasure at the Life House hotel, serves some of the city's greatest low-key drinks, which are made with herbs grown only feet away. Try the Sandia Fresca, a cocktail blended with Tito's vodka, watermelon, and purple basil, then settle back to watch the sunset reflect off the Brickell skyline from one of the wicker seats.

  4. Mickey Burkes is South Beach's newest neighborhood hangout, serving delicious drinks and "fit for a king" food in a friendly, welcoming, yet polished bar and lounge setting.

Mickey Burkes is all about creativity and, above all, quality. It collaborates with some of the top mixologists in the industry to create a one-of-a-kind cocktail menu. The bar provides a wide assortment of local craft, national, and foreign beers. Its Beer Cooler and Custom Tap System maintains a steady 30°F temperature throughout the day and night. Mickey's has a wide craft beer selection as well as unique drinks like the Pigs Will Fly, which is concocted with bacon-infused Scotch, Amaro Montenegro, and egg whites.

  5. It's only been a few months after launching, but Water Lion Wine + Alchemy has already been called "the marriage bar" by several patrons. Water Lion Wine & Alchemy is on Collins Avenue, just north of Lincoln Road, in the foyer of the Sagamore hotel. Slip inside the bar just behind the front desk, where you'll be greeted by a friendly face, perhaps one of the owners, Abbe Diaz or Filip Trajkovic.

It has a great range of difficult-to-find wines. But it has taken a step further by including Mekkeolli, a Koren rice wine rarely seen outside of Japan, as well as a full menu of "fermentology mixology" cocktails made with beer, wine, and sake. It's all in an opulent setting befitting Champagne and caviar, but with a much more laid-back vibe. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic spot, this new wine and cocktail bar is worth a visit.

  6. Tipsy Flamingo is a Miami-inspired cocktail bar that brought you RedBar Brickell and Sweet Caroline Karaoke Bar. Tipsy Flamingo is the ideal combination of delicious drinks and groovy music. The design, acoustics, and drinks all work together to create a unique and private atmosphere that's hard to come by in Miami.

Tipsy Flamingo does it better than anyone downtown when it comes to giving a true Miami experience. In a garden brimming with tropical vegetation and colorful neon flamingos, the folks from RedBar and Sweet Caroline's are slinging creative drinks. The River of Grass, made with Pierde Almas mezcal, lime juice, celery bitters, mint, and coconut water, is one of many drinks with Miami-themed names on the menu. If you're looking for some laughs, the bar also hosts weekly comedy events on Sundays.

  7. Brickell's favorite local bar is The Redbar! Catch up with friends over a classic board game and relax in the lounge while retro beats take you to a place you love. Every day has a happy hour, Mondays are Comedy Night, Whiskey Wednesdays, Thursdays are Ladies Night, and on weekends, there are incredible DJs spinning.

This retro-funky Brickell bar offers a cocktail menu crafted by Miami's greatest mixologists, making it a virtual trip throughout the city in one visit. Lauren Fuentes' Jazmine Says Yes, made with lemon juice, jasmine syrup, Brugal rum, and rosemary hydrosol, is among the artisan cocktails on the menu, but the selection is always changing. Most evenings, there will be a live DJ spinning, so if you like to dance rather than drink, come later in the evening.

  8. Dante's Hifi was influenced by Japan's intimate vinyl listening rooms. It's a great place to come enjoy a musical experience while sipping on a great cocktail.

Dante calls itself a "listening lounge". A DJ spins one of over 8,500 vinyl tracks on the Japanese-born concept's probably greatest bar sound system you'll ever hear. DJs alternate spinning songs from the collection, occasionally taking to the mic to explain what they're playing. While all of this is going on, you may drink some tasty cocktails and nibble on wasabi peas. About 50 chairs are available, and the cocktail menu is focused on whiskey-based drinks and light-bodied spritzes. If music is your purpose for coming out of the house, this place should be at the top of your list.

  9. Tobacco Road, Miami's oldest bar shuttered its doors in the fall of 2014 after 102 years in business. Kush Hospitality Group's Matt Kuscher and Patrick Gleber, one of Tobacco Road's original owners, have taken over the space for the tribute bar. The new site is at Brickell's old River Oyster Bar, which is just a few doors down from the previous Tobacco Road location.

The reopened Tobacco Road in the former River Oyster Bar space retains the laid-back vibe that formerly pervaded Miami's only historic watering place. Tobacco Road's new location includes a small stage and live performance area in the dining room, as well as a wall adorned with vintage gig posters dating back to the 1980s and old Miami memorabilia. The menu is full of old classics like the Death Burger with jalapenos, jack cheese, sriracha, and spicy mayo. A huge number of beers are available, which are divided into three categories: draft, craft, and shitty.

  10. Normally, a bar located beneath public transportation tracks isn't known for destination dining, but Jaguar Sun is the odd spot that qualifies as both one of Miami's best restaurants and one of its best bars. Jaguar Sun is a new tropical cocktail bar featuring almost Italian food in the heart of downtown Miami.

The Green Ghoul stands out as a standout among the cocktails (tequila, mezcal, poblano, cucumber, lime). Thanks to a lively, welcoming staff and a crowd of devoted regulars, the small room provides an inviting place to spend a few hours under the Metromover. The bar doesn't take reservations, so seats are limited and you'll likely have to wait (unless you arrive very soon).
