  1. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is plainly less somber than Roma and more populist than First Reformed, but that does not make Sony Pictures Animation's film any less deserving of praise. It is an extremely unique movie in that its humor is as sharp as ever, while still retaining the emotionally compelling plotlines. The humor never undermines the emotion, and the feelings never derail the comedy; as the tale unfolds and the stakes rise, both elements complement one another.

The animation of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse pays respect to the vintage comic print aesthetic of bygone decades while still being dynamic and thrilling. This charming blend of historical and contemporary elements works in tandem with the film's hip-hop score, which brings New York City to life and shows the audience what helps make it so unique.

The film's greatest triumph, however, lies in its emphasis on the rising tide of a community that understands the origin of its strength and prosperity. All of those achievements result from accepting and recognizing the creative and cultural contributions of America's diverse races.

  2. In this Multiverse adventure by Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, Michelle Yeoh (the actress in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "Crazy Rich Asians") gives a magnificent performance. "Everything Everywhere All At Once", featuring Michelle Yeoh and the iconic Vietnamese actor Ke Huy Quan (best remembered for his amazing performance as "Short Round" in "Indiana Jones" as a child actor) is easily one of the best multiverse movies of all time.

In the narrative of "Everything Everywhere All at Once", Evelyn Wang (played by Yeoh), the owner of a lowly laundromat, is sinking into unpaid debts and fighting off IRS notices over her unpaid taxes. To make things worse, Evelyn's husband of 25 years, Waymond (by Ke Huy Quan), has decided he wants a divorce. Meanwhile, Joy, the couple's lesbian daughter, has reached her breaking point due to her parents' unwillingness to acknowledge her for who she is.

After being called to her office by the aggressive IRS agent Deirdre for tax debt, Evelyn discovers herself in the midst of an inter-universe journey that places her at the center of the multiverse itself. Evelyn must seek the fortitude to battle her way across several parallel worlds, in which each incarnation of her has achieved greater life achievements than she currently does.

  3. Doctor Strange 2: Multiverse of Madness is a beautiful and schizophrenic work of artistic creation that is as intricate as the universe itself. It is both intelligent and on-trend, bubbly and cruel. Multiverse surpasses Marvel's most evident limitations as a movie manufacturer by focusing on human values at the core — and the daemonic eyes looking back at them. In this sequel to the first Doctor Strange movie (and every movie Marvel has done since), Benedict Cumberbatch's most prolific character is put through the wringer, as Doctor Strange's most momentous actions in the MCU are finally called into question. Remember that it was none other than Stephen who allowed Thanos to wipe out half of the universe. Doctor Strange is self-assured and maybe even pompous enough to know he did the right thing.

The Avengers ultimately prevailed. However, this is difficult to accept if you have lost loved ones in the meantime.

Yet, unexpected salvation chances are presented to Strange by America Chavez (by Xochitl Gomez), a youngster with the unusual ability to traverse between realms, who is being pursued by an invisible entity. To save her, Strange enlists the aid of his colleagues, notably Wong (by Benedict Wong, who demonstrates he is and has always been deserving of a solo outing) and Wanda (by Elizabeth Olsen), whose transformation into the terrifying "Scarlet Witch" is a sight to see. What transpires is a romp around the multiverse, an endless network of parallel Earths with distinct histories and physics. The excellent madness depicted in Doctor Strange 2: Multiverse of Madness has earned it the title of one of the best multiverse movies of all time.

  4. In the movie "Happy Death Day 2U," there is a quite daring element. "Happy Death Day 2U" builds upon its horror basis in order to turn into a high concept mystery/sci-fi/comedy thriller. Meanwhile, the first "Happy Death Day" movie was indeed a standard horror film, which added a cunning twist by incorporating the concept from "Groundhog Day" into the storyline. Christopher Landon, the film's director and writer, would have been seen as naive if his genre-bending gamble had failed. Fortunately for Landon and the audience, this endeavor is a resounding success!

In "Happy Death Day 2U", the protagonist, Theresa Gelbman (played by Jessica Rothe) is once again locked in a time loop, which picks up right where its predecessor left off. The original film did not explain the origin of the time loop. In a manner reminiscent of "Groundhog Day," Theresa needed to acquire vital and valuable lessons in order to escape this loop and avoid being constantly killed by Lori Spengler (played by Ruby Modine).

  5. Another Earth is not afraid of anything. The movie uses its throbbing opening tune and sequence of a party video to emphasize the protagonist's monologue. The main character describes how she is fascinated with Jupiter and astronomy, while the background depicts the hypnotic quality of Jupiter's gasses as they orbit our planet. The audience is as entranced by the exciting opening as they are by the protagonist's carefree attitude. She is just starting her future, having been accepted into MIT University.

The montage is filled with promise and happiness, then transitions to a sense of doom, showing her in a drunken state after getting into her automobile. While she is riding on the street, the radio announcer breaks the news that a brand-new planet almost similar to Earth has been found - and that whenever you gaze up at the skies, you can see it clearly.

Not only does "Another Earth" build a solid foundation for its future hypotheses concerning the formation and presence of this new planet, but it also brings into perspective a philosophic notion of self that will accompany Rhoda (played by Brit Marling) and the rest of the world throughout the movie's length.
