Mercedes-Benz Turk was founded in Istanbul Davutpaşa in 1967 with a 36% stake in Daimler-Benz AG. Mercedes-Benz Türk A. now manufactures buses at its Istanbul Hoşdere Factory and trucks and tow vehicles at its Aksaray Factory for both domestic and foreign markets.

Mercedes-Benz Turk began exporting in 1970 when it sold 0302 model buses to Egypt. This plant manufactures the Unimog, a heavy-duty truck, as well as the engine and axle. Tüpraş is a Turkish corporation that operates four refineries with a combined capacity of 30 million tons of crude per year.
