MercedesBenz Turk
Mercedes-Benz Turk was founded in Istanbul Davutpaşa in 1967 with a 36% stake in Daimler-Benz AG. Mercedes-Benz Türk A. now manufactures buses at its Istanbul Hoşdere Factory and trucks and tow vehicles at its Aksaray Factory for both domestic and foreign markets.
Mercedes-Benz Turk began exporting in 1970 when it sold 0302 model buses to Egypt. This plant manufactures the Unimog, a heavy-duty truck, as well as the engine and axle. In 1994, the company received the ISO 9002 quality certification. As part of Daimler-Benz's global goals, the production line was separated into two distinct entities on January 1, 2020. While truck and bus production will continue under the same name, automobile, and light commercial vehicle manufacture will be handled by the newly formed Mercedes-Benz Otomotiv Ticaret. Furthermore, at the beginning of November 1, 2022, truck and bus financial services were split into two and began to be known as Mercedes-Benz Bus finance and Mercedes-Benz Truck financing services.
The company now has two factories and continues to manufacture MBT, trucks, and buses. With bus plants in Hoşdere in Istanbul's Esenyurt district and truck factories in Aksaray, it is one of Turkey's main automotive bases. Hoşdere is home to the marketing center, bus plant, and head office building.
