Venezuela has a cable car system called Mukumbar or the Mérida Cable Car has the distinction of being the longest aerial tram at 12.5 km and the tallest in the world at 4,765 meters (15,633 feet) (7.8 mi). It connects Merida with the neighboring peaks and spans the spectacular Sierra Nevada de Merida national park region.

The public was first given access to the cable car system in 1960; it was shut down permanently in 2008 when it was announced that it had outlived its usefulness and would be reconstructed. A project to completely modernize the cable car system's permanent and mechanical infrastructure was started in 2011. A brand-new regular service started in October 2016.

The route is divided into two lanes, with a cable car that can accommodate 36 passengers in each lane. The suspended cable, which was powered by an engine, allows the cable car to move at a speed of 5 meters per second (18 km/h; 11 mph). The first engine is in the La Montaa station and serves the area between it and the La Aguada station. There are two different engines. The other one serves the remainder of the route and is situated in the Loma Redonda station.

At the ancient Israeli castle of Masada, there is an aerial tramway called the Masada cableway. It is the lowest aerial tramway in the world because its summit station is 33 meters above sea level and its bottom station is 257 meters below. Visitors can access the butte where the ruins of the ancient Jewish stronghold town can be seen by using the Masada cableway from a location that is well below sea level. The snake path is the only alternate route up. Among the most well-known sites in Israel are the neighboring Dead Sea and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Masada.

The Karl Brändle firm of Switzerland constructed the cableway in 1971 to transport visitors to the ruins at the plateau's summit. It measured 900 meters in length, featured two cabins, one aerial tramway support pillar, and a 290-meter elevation change. In its place was an aerial tramway constructed without any support pillars by Von Roll that was installed in 1998. This allowed the cabin's hangar to entirely enclose the two track ropes and the haul rope. Throughout the hours of operation, the cars run every fifteen minutes.

Amazing views of Manhattan, the East River, Roosevelt Island, and a glimpse inside the first Spider-Man movie are all available from the Roosevelt Island Tramway that crosses the East River.

At Second Avenue and 60th Street, there is an entry to the Roosevelt tram. The aerial tramway has a gondola-like appearance. Simply walk up and pay using your Metrocard. You don't pay any additional fees if you have an Unlimited MetroCard. (You can purchase a MetroCard even before leaving for New York.) You can get to Roosevelt Island in four minutes via the gondola/tram. A little island in the East River is called Roosevelt Island. Approximately 16,000 people live and work there.

You may have a great (and peaceful) stroll on Roosevelt Island. To complete this, proceed to the river and then turn left. The view of Manhattan is spectacular, and there are many benches. ideal for unwinding. On the way back, you can take the tram once more, but there is a metro station right behind the tram, in between the first few apartment complexes.

The tramway was shut down on March 1 as part of a $25 million effort to rebuild and enhance the system. All parts were replaced with the exception of the three tower bases thanks to assistance from the French business Poma.

Since its debut in 1912, the Sugarloaf cable car in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has welcomed more than 37 million tourists. Every 30 minutes or whenever the car is full, cable cars run.

The cable car system was extensively redesigned in 1972 and was originally created by Brazilian engineer Augusto Ferreira Ramos, one of the founders of Companhia Caminho Aéreo Pão de Açcar. In May 2009, the electronic operating system was updated, and the cables were modified once again in 2002. For the voyage between Praia Vermelha and Urca, brand-new cable cars with an improved ventilation system and tinted, anti-glare glass were set up in 2008. In the second stage of the restorations, four brand-new automobiles that cost about 3 million euros and were imported from Switzerland were placed on the Morro da Urca-Sugarloaf stretch.

The construction of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway in the untamed Chino Canyon on Palm Springs' northern border did not happen by accident. It requires vision, planning, funding, and most importantly, foresight.

Francis Crocker's dream as a young electrical engineer began in 1935 while he was traveling to Banning, California, with newspaper owner Carl Barkow. With the sweltering sun, Crocker wiped his forehead as he looked up at Mount San Jacinto's 10,834-foot peak, which was still covered in snow, and yearned to "get up there where it's nice and cold." At that point, a tramway up the high cliffs of Chino Canyon, or "Crocker's Folly" as it was subsequently nicknamed by one newspaper woman, was born.

The Norsjö aerial tramway is a 13.2 kilometer long aerial tramway (cable car) that connects the Swedish towns of rträsk and mensträsk.

In 1989, the Norsjö aerial tramway opened for passenger service as a tourist destination. It is a portion of the 96 km-long ropeway conveyor that Boliden AB's forebears constructed in the 1940s to transport ore buckets from Kristineberg, Lycksele, to Boliden. This ropeway transported 12 million tons of ore concentrates containing copper, lead, zinc, sulfur, silver, and gold between 1943 and 1987.

The Norsjö aerial tramway is a bi-cable gondola lift with removable cabins hanging on a track rope and propelled by a haul rope, according to technical terms. Each cabin can accommodate four passengers and travels one way in 1 hour and 45 minutes at a speed of 10 km/h. A lake and stream are visible for 3 km of the ride.

However, to maximize the investment, it was decided to build the line through a number of recently discovered ore deposits to enable loading into the ropeway once exploration began — intermediate stations were needed roughly every 13 km, anyhow — as this would allow for exploration to begin. Supports made of reinforced concrete rather than wood were chosen because they require less upkeep and are significantly more durable.
