  3. Talgua Cave (The Cave of the Glowing Skulls) is a cave in northeastern Honduras' Olancho Valley, in the municipality of Catacamas. The cave was given the nickname "The Cave of the Glowing Skulls" because of the way light reflects off the calcite deposits found on the skeletal remains found inside. Archaeologists investigating Central American cave burials and Mesoamerican cave burials have taken notice of the site as one of the most extensive Early to Middle Pre-Classic (1000-900 BC in this case) ossuary cave sites now known to have been in contact with surrounding Mesoamerican Maya communities.

The public can visit a tiny portion of the Talgua Cave. Travel to Catacamas, Olancho, and on to the caves, there are excellent roads and bridges that provide access to the cave. From the road to the cave entrance, a well-developed and secure cement and iron pedestrian track has been built. Hope you will have a pleasant experience here.
