The movie, which cost 10 billion won (about $8.5 million), is based on a joint North and South Korean study. Im Chul-ryung (Hyun Bin), a member of a special investigative team in North Korea, enters the scene in response to a disturbance complaint at a warehouse where the fake currency is printed. Cha Ki-sung (Kim Ju-hyeok), Im Chul-boss, ryung's, and his own crew are there to take the master plates needed to create the fake currency.
