A Better Tomorrow (2010)
A Better Tomorrow is a 2010 South Korean action drama film starring Joo Jin-mo, Song Seung-heon, Kim Kang-woo, and Jo Han-sun. It is an official remake of the 1986 Hong Kong film A Better Tomorrow. It was directed by Song Hae-sung and produced by Fingerprint Pictures. John Woo, who directed the original 1986 version, acted as executive producer.
Seung Heon portrays Lee Young Choon in this film directed by Song Hae Sung. He was a North Korean defector who became an illicit arms smuggler in the South. Young Choon is not alone since he is working with Kim Hyuk, a South Korean National Police Agency detective who is also a North Korean defector. Hyuk has a younger brother, Chul, whom he abandoned with his mother. One day, Hyuk travels to Thailand to conduct an illicit weapons trade with a new member named Jung Tae Min. Instead, Jung betrayed Hyuk and handed him over to the cops. Seeing his best friend betrayed, Yong Choon pursues vengeance on Jung and the Thai thugs. What happens next in their story?
