Man of Will (2017)

Song Seung Heon's next film, Man of Will, was released in 2017. He plays Kang Hyung Shik, an aggressive and cold-hearted character, in this film. Man of Will is based on the actual biography of a Korean nationalist leader who lived during the Joseon Dynasty. He was born Kim Chang and eventually changed his name to Kim Koo. Kim Chang So (Song Seung-heon) was imprisoned in the 1890s on suspicion of murdering a Japanese man engaged in the assassination of Empress Myeongseong.

From within the prison walls, he watched many impoverished and illiterate inmates being wrongfully punished. Kim then began training them to write and submit letters in order to clear up the false allegations. However, one day, Kim and his fellows get assigned to a large Japanese construction site where nothing but the ordeal worse than death is waiting.
