Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is an American television series based on the Marvel Comics organization S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division), a peacekeeping and spy agency in a world of superheroes. The series was the first to be based in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

An elite team of agents from the worldwide law enforcement agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division) investigate strange occurrences around the globe and beyond. Its members, each of whom brings a specialty to the group, fight to defend those who are unable to defend themselves against extraordinary and inconceivable threats, such as the powerful organization known as Hydra. The series was the first to be based in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
