Agropur
The Agropur Dairy Cooperative, abbreviated Agropur, is based in Saint-Hubert, Longueuil, Quebec, Canada. Agropur Cooperative is a dairy cooperative in North America that was created in 1938. It provides products to the industrial, retail, and food service sectors. It also has a variety of consumer brands and items of its own.
The Canadian license to produce and market Yoplait products was gained in 1971 by the Quebec-based Coopérative Agricole de Granby (renamed Agropur in 1979). Ultima Foods was formed in 1993 when Agropur's yogurt manufacturing and marketing operations were joined with those of Agrifoods, a federal cooperative owned by 2,500 dairy producers in Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
Agropur is owned by its members, who are over 2,812 dairy farmers who have banded together to take control of their own future and process the fruits of their labor. Agropur has 2,812 dairy farmer members from five Canadian provinces. They are the owners of Agropur, which operates on the basis of cooperative values. This way of operation, which involves a high level of discipline, has allowed the organization to reach its full economic potential and contribute to the creation of a better world.
