Almaviva
Almaviva is a cellar created under a partnership agreement between Baron Philippine de Rothschild and other partners, to create an exceptional Franco-Chilean wine. From there, Almaviva began production under the joint technical supervision of both partners and achieved its first international success with its launch in 1998.
Almaviva is located in Puente Alto, designed by the renowned Chilean architect Martín Hurtado, and the Almaviva winery is recognized for its perfect amalgamation of both aesthetic and functional design.
During the harvesting process, shallow containers are used to ensure the careful handling of the grapes. The bundles are then raised to the Mezzanine or second floor, where they are sorted by hand. After removing the stalks and gently pressing to release their juices, only gravity is used to move the grapes from the receiving area to the chemical tanks located on the first floor below. In the final stage, The bottled wine is left to settle before being shipped to the Negociants of Bordeaux, from where it will be distributed throughout the world.
