Urbina
Urbina was founded in 1970 when founder Salvador Urbina moved to Cuzcurrita and started making the first wood wines, with vineyards continuing to be used to make Urbina wines. Currently, Urbina is taken over by the fourth generation leaders and become key experts in the field (tasters, researchers, engineers, and doctors).
Urbina owned exclusive rights to its vineyards Rioja Alta, in Cuzcurrita del Río Tirón and Singular Valle del Ángel Vineyards. Urbina practices a respectful way of growing grapes, with organic fertilizers, maintaining the richness and structure of the soil, giving the fruit what is so quintessentially Urbina wine.
Cultivation is done in glass and wire, without forcing production with a yield of 5,000 to 6,500 Kg/Ha, following traditional practices and with limited use of pesticides and fungicides. During the production process, indigenous yeasts are used to give the wine a unique character that reflects the complexities of the Urbina winery's winemaking process.
