Amazonas Festival of Opera
The Festival Amazonas of Opera is one of Brazil's premier displays of theatrical arts. Every year, from March to May, the festival takes place at the Amazon Theater in Manaus, one of the best places to visit in Brazil. The Amazonas Philharmonic is the festival's official orchestra. The festival, which has been running for almost 22 years, is considered the country's main opera event. Luiz Fernando Malheiro, a world-class conductor, is the current artistic director.
