Ana Forrest
On December 11, 1956, Ana Forrest was born. She is most recognized for writing self-help books. She is a published author and yoga guru, just like Bikram Choudhury. For the past 40 years, Ana Forrest has made a difference in people's lives. Ana invented Forrest Yoga while attempting to heal from her own life experiences and trauma. She is a globally recognized pioneer in the disciplines of yoga and emotional healing. Forrest Yoga is regarded as an intensive, muscular, contemplative practice that emphasizes how to integrate transformational experiences from the mat into daily life, with thousands of licensed practitioners across the world.
Ana is a Distinguished Physician of Native American Medicine, a Master of Reiki, a Certified Regression Therapist, and a graduate of the University of Anthony Robbins. She is also the author of the critically acclaimed book Fierce Medicine. She is a member of the FARE Play (Organization for Sports Education and Research) and Earth & Sky Circle Boards of Trustees, as well as an instructor at the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic (Organization for Native Americans). She received the Mayor's Commendation in Los Angeles for her exceptional teaching and healing efforts in the community, marking the first time a major US city has given such a distinction to a yogi or yogini. Ana is a consultant for USAF Fighter Wing 48 (RAF Lakenheath, UK), Exalted Warrior Foundation (Tampa, FL), and hiwecanhelp.org, as well as a regular contributor to Yoga Journal (Newcastle, UK).
Ana Forrest teaches yoga from an intuitive and highly developed understanding of the human body and psyche by teaching asanas, breathing, and awareness of the passage of energy in the body. Ana's students expand their awareness of the practice and their own lives under her careful direction, resulting in an exhilarating journey of self-discovery, purification, and healing. This was Ana's aim all along. "By teaching Forrest Yoga, I'm helping individuals heal their butts by encouraging them to let go of the things that stiffen and sicken their bodies so they can walk." In a Beautiful Way, calming and relaxing in a healing way.
