The color-coded status LEDs on the Arris Surfboard 6183 are a feature we found extremely useful. Instead of merely showing that it's connected, its uplink and downlink icons glow different colors depending on the connection quality. On the forward-facing status screen of every other modem we examined, there was a LAN indicator. On the SB6183, the LAN indicator has been replaced by an Ethernet port status light, which is more easily accessible for diagnostics.
