Ashes of Love
2018 saw the release of the Chinese television program Ashes of Love. The novel Heavy Sweetness, Ash-like Frost by Dian Xian served as the inspiration for the TV show. The program is a romantic fantasy drama that centers on Jin Mi, a flower fairy who falls in love with Xu Feng, the son of the Heavenly Emperor.
The Heavenly and Flower realms are divided in the universe where the television series is based, and romantic relationships between the two realms are illegal. Jin Mi, a flower fairy, was endowed with the power to create a pill that could cause anyone to fall in love with the person they first meet. She mistakenly gives the medication to Xu Feng, the son of the Heavenly Emperor, and this changes everything.
The television show explores the romance between Jin Mi and Xu Feng as they deal with the difficulties of their forbidden relationship and the governmental disputes in the Heavenly kingdom. Run Yu, the third prince of the Heavenly Realm, and Liuying, the queen of the Flower Realm, are two other characters that appear in the show and have significant roles in the plot.
Ashes of Love was a box office triumph and garnered favorable reviews from both reviewers and viewers for its engaging plot, gorgeous graphics, and strong cast work. The popular Alan song "Lianlianbuwang" is included in the soundtrack of the show.
