Eternal Love
The 2017 Chinese television series "Eternal Love" (also known as "Three Lives, Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms") is based on the Tang Qi Gong Zi novel of the same name. Yang Mi and Mark Chao played the series' main characters, and Lin Yufen served as the series' director. This is one of the Best Chinese Romance Dramas.
The series depicts the tale of Ye Hua, a prince of the heavens, who falls in love with Bai Qian, a goddess who is brought to experience a test of love in the mortal earth. Over the course of three lifetimes, the two manage to reconnect despite a number of difficulties and barriers.
In particular, Bai Qian, who is shown as a strong and independent heroine who is capable of making her own decisions and shaping her own destiny, has received appreciation for how "Eternal Love" portrays female characters. The series is credited for helping to popularize the "xianxia" type of Chinese fantasy literature, which combines martial arts and Chinese mythology.
The first 58 episodes of the show were shown on Dragon TV and Zhejiang TV between January 30 and March 1, 2017. It was warmly welcomed by viewers in China and abroad, and it won accolades for its stunning photography, the lead actors' powerful performances, and its engaging plot.
