The Pillow Book

A Chinese romantic fantasy drama series called "The Pillow Book" premiered in 2020. The drama is a follow-up to the well-liked drama series "Eternal Love" (also known as "Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms") and is based on the book "Three Lives Three Worlds, The Pillow Book" by Tang Qi.

The plot centers on the love affair of two deities named Bai Fengjiu and Dong Hua, who have a convoluted past spanning three incarnations. A fox spirit named Bai Fengjiu falls in love with Dong Hua, a strong god known for being distant and chilly. They have to balance their romantic impulses for one another with the perils of the everlasting world.

Vengo Gao and Dilraba Dilmurat play Dong Hua and Bai Fengjiu, respectively, in the drama. It received plaudits for its stunning cinematography, complex storyline, and excellent lead acting. Chu Yui Bun, a TV drama director based in Hong Kong, helmed the drama. In the past, Chu Yui Bun has directed a number of other well-liked TV dramas, such as "The Four" and "The Legend of the Condor Heroes".

Both commercially and critically, "The Pillow Book" was a hit in China and beyond. It was one of the most popular dramas on streaming services like Tencent Video and iQiyi, and it has a sizable fan base among followers of Chinese fantasy dramas.
