Attorney Paul Bergrin was Also a Prolific Crime Boss

It takes a lot of effort for a lawyer to achieve real-world fame, but Paul Bergrin had succeeded in doing so. He spent some time as a prosecutor before switching to defense work on high-profile cases. Mobsters, drug dealers, and celebrities were among his clients. Rappers like Lil Kim and Naughty by Nature were defended by him. He was a household name in the nation. And it turned out he was in charge of a huge criminal organization.

Bergrin received six life sentences in 2013 for using his law company to organize a prostitution ring, a narcotics operation, and other crimes. What's more stunning is that he was also found guilty of conspiring to kill a witness. He was found guilty of 23 crimes in total. He lost his appeal the next year. In 2016, he requested a new trial, but that request was rejected. He was still attempting to persuade everyone who would listen that he had new proof as of 2020, yet he is still serving out those six life sentences as of this writing.
