Porn Star Harry Reems Became a Real Estate Agent

Herbert Streicher may not be well-known, but for a particular audience in the early 1970s, he was either extremely well-known or perhaps infamous. Streicher became well-known as Harry Reems. He was a porn star who appeared in Deep Throat, possibly the most well-known adult film of all time.

Before he retired in 1985, he had a total of nearly 100 film roles. He was charged with conspiring to disseminate obscenity in 1975, and he is largely recognized as the first person to be tried in America just for appearing in a motion picture. On appeal, his conviction was reversed.

Despite his notoriety, Reems lived a modest existence for the majority of his later years as a real estate agent. He gave up drinking, which he attributed to a lot of his past bad choices. Even though he eventually left his church and followed his own path in terms of religion, he did find religion for a while. Although he turned his life around and became, according to one newspaper, a pillar of the community, he regretted his past life and was still willing to talk about it for many years after the fact.
