Bart Simpson
Bart Simpson is a fictional character in the American animated television series The Simpsons and part of the Simpson family. He is voiced by Nancy Cartwright and first appeared on television in The Tracey Ullman Show's short "Good Night" on April 19, 1987. Cartoonist Matt Groening created and designed Bart in the series. while waiting in the lobby of James L. Brooks' office. Groening was called upon to introduce a series of short films based on his comic book series, Life in Hell, but he decided to create a new set of characters instead. While the rest of the characters are named after members of the Groening family, Bart's name is an anagram of the word kid. After appearing on The Tracey Ullman Show for two years, the Simpsons received their own series on Fox, which premiered on December 17, 1989. Bart has appeared in every episode of the Simpsons except "Four." Great Women and a Manicure".
Bart Simpson is also considered one of the most famous cartoon characters. Bart's most prominent and beloved personality traits are naughty, rebellious, and disrespectful to authority. Character cues include his blackboard jokes in the opening sequence, his prank calling Moe, and his catchphrases "Eat my shorts", "¡Ay" , caramba!", "Don't crawl, man!", and "I'm Bart Simpson. What the hell are you?". Except, however, "Ay, caramba!"
