Winnie-the-Pooh
Winnie-the-Pooh, also known as Pooh and Pooh Bear, is a fictional teddy bear personified by British author AA Milne and British illustrator EH Shepard. Winnie the Pooh (referred to as Pooh) is the main character in the series of the same name, is one of the most popular cartoon characters. He is a anthropomorphized, honey-loving teddy bear belonging to Christopher Robin, who first appeared in the 1966 Disney short Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree.
The first collection of stories about the character was Winnie-the-Pooh (1926), and was followed by The House at Pooh Corner (1928). Milne also included a poem about the bear in the children's book When We Were Very Young (1924) and many other poems in Now We Are Six (1927). All four episodes were illustrated by EH Shepard. Stories of Pooh have been translated into many languages, including Alexander Lenard's Latin translation, Winnie Wild Pu, first published in 1958, and in 1960, becoming the only Latin book Originally posted on The New York Times Best Seller List.
