BC Highland Games and Scottish Festival

BC Highland Games and Scottish Festival takes first place on Best Annual Events in Vancouver. The BC Highland Games and Scottish Festival is an annual event held at Coquitlam's Lafarge Lake Park. The 89th anniversary of Scotland and British Columbia will be held on June 20, 2020. Expect to hear and see a lot of bagpipes and highland dancers. Caber tossing, whiskey tasting, Gaelic singing, Scottish country dancing, and Celtic music are all available. Simply follow the sound of the pipes and look for anyone wearing kilts or tartans.

ScotFestBC: The United Scottish Cultural Society, an umbrella organization of some of British Columbia's major Scottish cultural groups, proudly presents the British Columbia Highland Games. The Games Organizing Committee is a year-round committee of 35+ volunteer members who work with the BC Pipers' Association, the BC Highland Dancing Association, and the Royal Scottish Country Dancing Association to put on the Games.

Purchase your tickets in advance and then join the fun at Town Centre Park on Saturday. Travel to the Games by train. There is a free bike valet available. There will be activities for children, food vendors (including vegetarian options), Scottish and other national foods, the opportunity to view British cars, listen to performances on three stages, including the new Heritage Stage, and watch heavy athletes throw large objects all over the Lew Ross Field. Hold on to your seats for the massed pipe bands to descend on the fields around 5:30, followed by the pipers' ceilidh in the big tent with Beolach.
