Bîc River
It is considered the location of the appearance of the well-pronounced stream as a source of the Bîc River. The river is 155 kilometers long, with a basin area of 2040 square kilometers.
The water quality of the Bîc River was determined by biological monitoring in the autumn of 2012, and it was discovered that the water is moderately polluted upstream of the municipality of Chisinau, but becomes highly polluted within the municipality's region, so that the river's life gradually fades starting with Varnița street (the capital's industrial sector), due to the aggressive pollution to which the river is subjected.
This dead water is utilized for irrigation of agricultural areas in the Anenii Noi district, which are sold on Chisinau markets, but it also has an impact on the quality of the groundwater in this area. Unfortunately, no studies have been conducted in the Republic of Moldova that consider the influence of a polluted river on man's life and way of living.
