Be My Baby

The American girl group the Ronettes' song "Be My Baby" was made available as a single on Philles Records in August 1963. The Ronettes' biggest hit was a song written by Jeff Barry, Ellie Greenwich, and Phil Spector that peaked at number two in the US and number four in the UK. Some people consider it to be the greatest pop record of all time, and it is frequently listed as one of the best songs from the 1960s.

At Gold Star Studios, Spector's de facto house band-later known as "the Wrecking Crew"-produced the song "Be My Baby". The song is recognized as the prototypical use of his Wall of Sound recording method and was the first time he recorded with a full orchestra. The track's sole Ronette is Ronnie Spector, who was then known as Veronica Bennett. It was included in the 1964 release Presenting the Fabulous Ronettes.

"Be My Baby" has been heard more than 3 million times on radio and television in the decades following its release. The Beach Boys' Brian Wilson, who wrote the 1964 smash "Don't Worry Baby" in response to "Be My Baby," was one of several musicians who were influenced by the song.
