Don’t Stop Believin
American rock group Journey has a song called "Don't Stop Believin'". It was made available as the second single from the group's seventh studio album, Escape (1981), which was distributed by Columbia Records, in October 1981. Guitarist Neal Schon, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, and singer Steve Perry all contributed to the song "Don't Stop Believin'." "Don't Stop Believin'," a mid-tempo rock hymn, is famous for its unique beginning piano riff.
Journey was quickly becoming one of the most popular rock bands of the early 1980s. Before going into the recording studio to record Escape, the band added Cain on keyboards. When Cain was a struggling singer living on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, his father gave him advice that inspired him to keep the song title. The song is unique since the chorus doesn't appear until the song is almost over; instead, it has two pre-choruses and three verses before it gets to its main hook. In one take, the band recorded the song at Berkeley, California's Fantasy Studios.
