Bernard Arnault
Bernard Jean Étienne Arnault (born 5 March 1949) is a French business magnate, investor and art collector. Arnault is the chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of LVMH, the world's largest luxury goods company. He is the richest person in the world according to Forbes magazine, with a net worth of 186 billion USD, as of 2021. In April 2018, he became the richest person in fashion as well as in Europe, surpassing the list. This brand is by Zara's Amancio Ortega.
After graduation, Arnault joined his father's company in 1971. In 1976, he persuaded his father to liquidate the company's construction division for 40 million French francs and change the company's focus to real estate. Using the name Férinel, the new company has developed a specialty in the lodge. Named Director of Corporate Development in 1974, he became CEO in 1977. In 1979, he succeeded his father as president of the company.
In January 2021, LVMH completed its acquisition of American jeweler Tiffany & Co for $15.8 billion, arguably the largest luxury brand acquisition ever.
