Elon Reeve Musk (born June 28, 1971), is a South African-American engineer, financier, inventor, technology entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is also a dual citizen of South Africa and Canada. He is the founder, CEO and chief engineer and designer of SpaceX; original investor, CEO and product architect of Tesla, Inc.; founder of The Boring Company; co-founder of Neuralink; co-founder and original co-chair of OpenAI.
He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 2018. In December 2016, he was ranked 21st on Forbes' list of the World's Most Powerful People, and topped the list. He also topped Forbes' 2019 list of most innovative leaders. As of January 7, 2021, his net worth is estimated at $188.5 billion and he is listed by Bloomberg Billionaires Index and Forbes the World's Real- Time Billionaires ranks as the richest person in the world. He is the longest-serving CEO of any automaker globally.
