William Henry Bill Gates (born October 28, 1955) is an American businessman, philanthropist, author and chairman of Microsoft Corporation, the software giant he founded with Paul Allen. He is always on the list of the richest people in the world and was the richest person in the world from 1995 to 2014, except for March 2013, March 2012, March 2011 (2nd place) and 2008 when he only ranked third. In May 2013, Bill Gates regained the title of the richest person in the world. In fact Bill Gates is an incomplete learner. At Microsoft, Gates is the CEO and chief software architect for the development of the corporation. Currently, he is the largest individual shareholder in the group, holding over 8 percent of the shares. He is also the author and co-author of several books.
Gates is one of the most famous entrepreneurs of the personal computer revolution. Despite his many admirers, many of his competitors have criticized his business tactics, which they consider unfair or monopolistic competition, and his company has suffered a number of lawsuits and litigation. Near the end of his career, Gates pursued a number of philanthropic endeavors, making and donating large sums of money to charities and scientific research through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which was established in 2000.
