Bogaerts International School
Bogaerts International School (BIS) is an international school for kindergarten to 12th grade students. The school is in a semi-urban area with lots of green spaces, and the campus is surrounded by woods, making it a unique place to learn right by Brussels.
BIS is part of Bogaerts Education, which started in 1970 with Yann Bogaerts. It is the only IB Continuum World School in Brussels. The school offers a smooth educational journey covering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). The school welcomes local Belgian families and families from around the world.
In addition to the IB programs, BIS provides language courses in French, Spanish, Italian, and Chinese, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. They got the first approval in 2012 for the IB Middle Years Program (Grades 6 to 10) and the following year for the IB Diploma Program (Primary Years Programme 1 to Diploma Programme 2). In 2021, BIS was authorized to offer the Belgian program for pre-primary grades up to year 5, making us the only fully accredited IB school in Brussels.
The school is located on the Domaine Latour de Freins in Brussels, in a building designed by architect Henri Parquet in 1903. The building has a unique W shape and features brick, stone, and a natural slate roof. The property includes an extensive wooded park. The facilities include a large parking area, outdoor tennis court, backyard play area, indoor gymnasium, and a spacious indoor cafeteria. They also offer boarding facilities on campus, providing a supportive and inclusive environment for the students.
