The Lycée français Jean Monnet de Bruxelles, commonly known as LFB, is situated in Uccle, Brussels, Belgium, and is a proud member of the Agency for French Education Abroad. Embracing the French study curriculum, the LFB caters to students from nursery school through the French baccalauréat. In 2020, the school's vibrant community comprised approximately 2,719 students.
The Lycee Français Jean Monnet offers comprehensive education to a diverse student body aged 3 to 18, representing over 56 nationalities. The Lycée has two locations. One has a preschool for 300 kids from 3 to 5 years old. In this preschool, kids have classes in two languages (French and English or French and German), and they also learn some Dutch. The other location on Avenue du Lycée Français has 2,500 students from 6 to 18 years old (from CP to Terminale). This place has cool things like two gymnasiums, two libraries, and a restaurant for students.
Each class at the Lycée has two teachers - one speaks French, and the other speaks English or German. This unique way of teaching also includes learning Dutch. In preschool, kids practice talking and learn to write, count, and other essential things. In elementary classes, students improve at French and math and study different subjects like stories, history, geography, and science.
The Lycée Jean-Monnet is proud to have two special sections for international students: English (British SI) and German (German SI). All students prepare for the National Diploma of the Brevet test in the third year. It shows what they've learned in school. In high school, students prepare for the French Baccalaureate, an important diploma for college in France or other countries. The school also gives tests and certificates in different languages, making the learning experience exciting for students who want to know about the world.
