Braamspunt Beach
In Suriname's Commewijne district, Braamspunt Beach is nestled in a nature reserve with a fishing town and a military station. It is only accessible by boat from Paramaribo. Because the fishing community has a small population, it is not overrun with tourists.
Braamspunt Beach is a long, drop-like cape with a sandy beach on all sides. The sand is a combination of white and golden. Following high tides or minor storms, the beach is frequently littered. The sand on the beach is not cleaned in a central location. The location is not inside the direct easy access zone. There are no roads leading to it. Public transportation is the only way to get there. As a result, additional temporary trips are being organized here.
It's another key turtle habitat, with leatherback and green sea turtles being the most common species to make their homes here. There are other areas near the seaside where you may go dolphin watching.
Location: Commewijne, Suriname.
